Why do celebrities insist on giving their kids funny names?

Don't they think about how it will affect the kids growing up? Or are they just in their own little world?

I personally think they do it for publicity, and give very little thought to the fact that they're naming a child who will have to carry the ridiculous name with them for the rest of their lives !

I believe they are in their own little world. Some of the names are cute, but some of them are just plain stupid. I can understand the want for a unique name, but if they keep this up we are going to have people named basket and lamp. I don't know, maybe they think their kids will be exempt from being made fun of because their parents are celebrities, who knows?

I'm glad I'm not the only person that's wondered this. I mean seriously where do they come up with some of them: Suri, Pax, Maddox I mean come on...Then we got Apple and Michael Jackson's kid all have the same name...WHY??? It's bad enough these kids are not growing up in normal circumstances now they have weird names too. You get a star because i'm going to be checking back to see if anyone can answer this...good question.

Ashlee and Pete Wentz just named their son Bronx Mowgli? Bronx isn't a terrible name but Mowgli?! What the hay?! All I can hear is Gizmo from Gremlins saying "mogwi"

I like unique names but would never give my child a name that would target him or her for endless teasing. For instance, 'Apple.' Are you kidding me?
