Playstation 3 I'm trying to help a friend get his PS3 wireless?
My friend wants to hook up his PS3 wireless but he doesn't have internet and somebody told him to get a wireless router and he would be able to hook it up and bypass a code and feed off his dad's internet that lives next door and go wireless,so I gave him a Linksys wireless B router.He wants to know exactly how to do this and does he need a key or code and how can he get this.Please explain step by step so I'll be able to print it out for him.

Okay, First the router would have to be in his dads place on his internet and set up. Once you set up the router, (i don't have steps for that). Log onto the PS3 and go to settings. Go down to network settings at the bottom. Make sure it says Internet Connection - Enabled. Then go to Internet connection settings. It will ask you the kind of connect. choose wireless and it will search for wireless networks within range. then just follow the steps on the PS3, pretty easy like network name, password, ect. Hope this helps.

His dad would have to have a wireless router for him to get online. The router you gave him is useless without his own internet service. If his dad does have a wireless router your friend should go into setting on the ps3 and search around for internet and follow the directions. I cant say exactly where to find it, I am not in front of my ps3 right now, but it shouldnt be hard to find. He might need to know the key # off of the router though.
