What's Hair Metal? Don't say Bon Jovi or Kiss because they are not metal at all.?

You have heavy metal and then there were "hair bands".Hair bands came about in the 80's. Bon Jovi got their start during the "hair band" era and they are more than that because they are still making albums. Poison, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Warrant, Skid Row etc......could all be lumped into the "hair band" era. Heave metal got it start in the 60's and 70's with bands like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden.

But that's the issue. Maybe but Kiss, but Bon Jovi, Warrant, Skid Row, Motley Crue, Ratt, Poison, White Lion, and a ton more like them.

They aren't "metal" as most would call them today, but that's how they were lumped together. Even though Skid Row were far harder than Poison, they had pretty boy singers and huge hair. And Warrant even had onstage choreography.

I lived through the hair metal years. I'm old.
