You could maybe buy an ornament or something that will be there constantly for your mother, when my gran had Alzheimer's and we all gave her an ornament she used to look at them all the time and appreciate them. Or you could get her clothes, something that will be useful and she can appreciate at the time.

As for your brother, my cousin has cerebral palsy but I don't know how bad it is for your brother or how old he is. But with the exception of things like running machines OBVIOUSLY then I know my cousin would be grateful for most things. She is able minded and if your brother is too, then maybe something to reflect his personality and what he likes. If he can still think for himself, it shouldn't really be all that different to buy for him. Again, maybe some nice clothes for him? Clothes work for people of all ages ;)

    Good luck and Merry Christmas!

You will know them better than anyone else on this site and you gave limited information. You don't say how much you want to spend, how old your brother is and how physically capable your brother is, for instance someone may suggest a wii console but we don't know if he will have the motor skills to use it. Also cognitevely we don't know how he is, as with CP you could get any range of abilities.

For your mum how about something to pamper her, maybe some products, or if you have a bigger budget maybe a spa treatment. Or maybe some clothes, if you can maybe go shopping with a sister/aunt/daughter so they can help out.

Is there anything you can get that may be useful to your mum's and brother's everyday lives?

First things first. How about we ask everybody who is wiling to pray for healing. God is certainly capable of anything. But is it part of his plan? That what is important, God's plan. We have to trust God. He may have already decided that your brother will not be healed. If you trust God to take care of him without healing him, would that be a sign of weak faith? Of course not. There is an example of someone in the bible who had great faith and was righteous. He prayed that he would not have to suffer a horrible death. He finished his prayer by saying" yet not my will but your will be done". the man was Jesus. None of us could possibly have greater faith or be more deserving. Yet God's answer was "NO". It was not because God did not love his son. It was because God already had a plan. He has one for your brother as well. Trust him. I was led to Christ by an autistic child. It may be that you will be led by your brother. Keep your eyes and your heart and your mind open. Watch for blessings. They may not be obvious things like a healing. It may be a new understanding. Or a new person in your lives. They will be there. The only question is; Will you see them? Do not be too hard on your mother, or her church. Help her find out for herself what the bible says. Be gentle.

perhaps you should just dismiss their disabilities and treat as normal and give normal pressies as you would for your normal friends ,perfume maybe for mum . clothes perhaps not because you probably get as norm ,cd with nice music perhaps for bros . you should talk to their full time carers and find out what pleases them ..good luck
