What is the product of tangent x cotangent?

What do you get when you multiply tan x cot. Is it nothing, zero, or something else?

    use the definition of tan(x) = sin(x)/cos(x)

    and cot(x) = cos(x)/sin(x)

multiply them, simplify and see what you get.

    The answer is one.

If you get the tangent of an angle, it is the opposite over the adjacent.

The cotangent will show the value of the angle, given the opposite over the adjacent.

y=1 because they cancel out each other
