What's the best way to become a HS history teacher?

Update:

I have a strong interest in history and languages and would love to be a HS teacher but i was informed that they save that job for coaches.

There's no best way in such issues. You should have a basic interest on that subject. Some people are poor in expressing by speech & writing. This factor also will affect the profession of a teacher.

So, just try to analyze how much you are good in the knowledge about the subject & your talent of expression (you need to teach a group of students in which some may be intelligent, some on an average & some poor in understanding the subject)

    All the best.

Thats really good subject and one of the popular choice at IAS students. you need to take history at graduation level and teach to students up to 8th class of do masters in the same subject to teach upto 12. if you clear National eligebility test in history you can teach this subject up to university level. Its really good to know you like history... make the same popular among your students.
