I would like to learn C++, any advice?

I would like to learn C++. I have a little experience in basic and XML. I need to know what compiler(s) to use, as well as I'd like a tutorial to use. If you need additional information, just ask.

Thanks

Pick up "Thinking in C++" from bruceeckel.com - it's downloadable as a PDF for free. Bruce is a heck of a good instructor, and there are exercises with answers in the book. You'll learn a lot working through that book.

C++ is good but there will be little payoff for a lot of work. Try visual basic (plenty of tutorials and is free), you can make the coolest stuff with little work.
