    you best bet is to go to GTE robb and ask them about it when you go there you can apply for work experience this way you can really find out if it is what you wanan do, if u have done it before then you may kno.

    fire standbye is like all jobs that it has a big risk of injury so like policeman and plumbing and electrcian you should get payed a considerable amout.

    i'm not entirely sure, most fire fighters are volunteer fire fighters, so I doubt you will get payed for stand by and that being said, it might be a real small pay check because your not really doing anything, you could go a whole year with out having one fire, thats being payed to do nothing, but yes on the other hand there could be 50+ and it would be hard to give out a payment. Also it might be payed in hours or such and such, this meaning payed for the work you do and not just being on *standby*.. That could also result in a payment for the amount of work you do and an annual fee for being on standby, so they thank you for just being there when you are needed, even if you don't get called up
