Can I use a convertor box to record digital broadcast TV and play back on analog TV?

    Yes.

    You can connect the output of the converter to a VCR or DVD recorder.

    As far as an analog recorder is concerned, the output of a converter box is the same as analog cable or broadcast channel 3 or 4.

    A few converters like the DISH Network TR-40CRA or Zinwell ZAT-970A have "VCR timers" that let you program channel changes. These converters are more flexible when used with recorders.

    No. A converter box is only to convert the digital signal so it play on an analog tv.

    No, Convertor boxes, at least of the coupon type only receive, as part of their coupon eligibility .

    To record, you need a separate recorder, or get a recorder with a built in digital tuner, neither coupon eligible.
