At scrum time, when is the defending halfback considered offside?

It cracks me up that Barry didn't read his own source. It says that you are offside if you go past where the ball is in the scrum. If you whip round the other side you have to stay behind your own No. 8s feet.
Example a
The non-ball-winning scrum half
can follow the ball. The scrum half
must stay behind the ball which is
the offside line.
Example b
The non-ball-winning scrum half may
also move to the offside line at the
hindmost foot of the scrum but must
not move away from the scrum and
must not overstep that offside line.
The non-ball-winning scrum half can
move between the positions a and b.
Example c
The non-ball-winning scrum half may
decide to move to or beyond the
offside line 5 metres behind the
hindmost foot of that player’s team,
but once there, must remain behind
the offside line until the scrum is over.

the defending halfback is considered offside when he goes past the second row of the scrum eg. he can't go past the number eight's feet until the attacking halfback or number eight touch the ball.

the ball becomes the offside line. so you have to stay on your side of the ball while its in the scrum.

This is for Union,
When he comes past his teams first row. he should stay in line or behind them.
So if Burgess comes foward past robinson at all, he is then offside.
[Rugby's my favourtie sport and i coach a juniors team haha so thats why a girl knows this]
