Do my damnedest to carve a path out. If it entails destroying the concrete roadblock or digging down under, why not.

Stop, look and listen. Take a few moments to consider and weigh my options. If my better judgment is telling me that the dead end is but a mirage, then I'd continue with my journey. The dead end is a temporary set back; perhaps a reminder that I need to slow down.
If the better course of action is to take a detour, then I'd chart another route and carry on with life. Another day, another step.

Come here, wookiee, come hold my hand and sit with me awhile. I could always use the comforting presence of a dear friend when faced with life's negative forces. Alone, I may not know what to do but knowing that there are friends who really care, I am emboldened to pursue the road ahead no matter how rough it may be.
Thanks for your helping hand. I'm okay now.

2 options: Stay there and make the best out of that damned situation, or simply go back and find an alternative route.

It might be tedious and a long way from the start but if it were me, I'd go back the way I came from and look carefully for the right direction this time.

I'd look for other options. Or I'd call for help: call some friends who knows the area or look for any people in that area and ask them.
