Which is more accurate--MIRROR or PICTURE?

Im pretty vexed up with the difference in how i look in pics and mirrors....

When i look at the mirror, im pretty pleased with the way i look.

But when im in pics, i look like super horrible and superrr ugly..=X

Some times i wished i could be somebody else n see in real life how i ACTUALLY look like and my expressions,etc..

But since that's not possible, which do u think gives a more acurate image of the actual me---pictures or mirror image?

Thanks for the answers!! =D

    wrong.

Pictures are more accurate. When you look in the mirror, lift up your left hand and what hand does your reflection lift up? the right hand. Reflections in the mirror are NOT how others see you, pictures are because they're flipped the right way and mirrors are flipped the different direction =] try it! Take your picture, use photo editing like paint or something, and say "Flip image" or something like that and you'll see the difference with the same image between a picture and a mirror...

    Pictures are more accurate :)

Source(s): And yes, when you look at a pic, it's the equivalent of looking at yourself thru someone else's eyes. Hope I helped. If you practice taking pictures, playing around with the zoom, flash, and lighting you eventually learn to be photogenic. I Took a photography course by the way, so I know it can be done :D

    Mirror With Picture

Okay... so it's true that the flipped image of a picture is supposed to be "the real you" versus a mirror.... However.... when you take a picture and especially a selfie you capture usually a distorted image of yourself... for example... when I take a selfie...one side of my face looks extremely disproportionate versus a mirror... or mirror flipped image... why is that... is it because my face is disfigured.... no of course not... it's because I pose slightly to one side.... and most people do take a photo of themselves that's not quite centered... that's probably why you don't find yourself to look like your usual self... and for this reason... i say mirrors are more likely to capture the real you... but if you still fret about it.... ask someone...i asked someone which photo looked more "like me"..a flipped one or a non flipped pic... they told me that the one that more closely resembled the reflection of a mirror was more accurate... i definitely felt satisfied... hope this helps

    mirror

for cameras, changes in lens angle make a huge difference in the way you look. research more about lens angles, but people generally look better with a wider angle lens. Mirrors also add depth perception and fluidity whereas pictures are flat. Mirrors are more in line with what people see.

The reason you look different in photo's and mirrors, is that mirrors reflect your image. Your image is literally flipped. A lot of the time people don't like pictures of themselves, is because they are not seeing it flipped. So in the respect, an image is more 'true to life'

BUT at the same time, pictures capture you at a moment. They don't show you moving, the show you posing most of the time, for some people that just doesn't look good. (Me, for example. xD) Mirrors offer a video type look at yourself, but clearer and in real time. I think it's safe to say, if you look good in a mirror, you look good in real life.

Mirrors are definately more accurate pictures don't do anyone justice!! and mirrors are yourexact reflection... whereas photos are modified due to the type of camera...

  • heey, i find the EXACT same thing. i defiantly think you get a more accurate image of the way you look from a mirror. i think the reason for this is because with pictures, you generally get different lighting, angles etc. i find that most of the pictures i take draw attention to the features i don't like about me, hence, making me look eww...

    hope this helps =)

yeah it's flipped but it doesn't make much of a difference..it's just the other way around..pictures distort people sometimes..making noses flatter..cheek lines look thinner..and if it's too up close, everything just looks bigger..when i see pictures of people i know, they look more like what they look like in a mirror

I'm not a scientist or anything but I've done a lot of research on this, ( i'm super insecure. >~< i love the way i look in the mirror but when i open up my phones camera i see a horrible monster. xP my eyes look super small and my head looks 2x bigger than in reality. ) so i put it to the test, i took a picture of myself with a blank face and it came out horrible. i then made the same face in the mirror while my friend was standing beside me. 1. she told me the picture looked nothing like me. 2. she said the mirror looked exactly the same as reality. so i think for now it's safe to say that the mirror is a more accurate representation, but i also noticed i look more normal in videos than in photos. so try taking a video and see if you don't look weird. a photo can come out weird due to distortion and different lighting / angles. and it also depends on how photogenic you are. i've been told many times i'm waay prettier in person. :p
