    That would be C.

    A is not true, because molecular equations sometimes describe mechanisms; also, it may not be completely clear from the wording what happens.

    B is clearly false; an equation in German may be useless to someone from Mexico, for example.

    D is false as well. Word equations cannot be balanced like chemical equations can.

    That leaves C.
