can someone please answer this...?

my husband decided to get me a brand new cell phone plan that costs 100$ a month at least without hidden fees or taxes. i think this is a little outrageous but its his money...

we have a little boy on the way due march 5th that i have to save for and be able to afford when he is born. ill be living with my mother so i dont have to pay for rent. although i do have to pay for food and clothing. i am also buying a car from my grandmother for $4000 but im thinking about using my taxes for that because i am also in the military until January 2nd. we also BOTH have allotments that my husband has told me not to worry about he will be paying....the allotments add up to about $400 a month AT LEAST. so i guess my question is do we have enough money to have the luxeries of 100$ worth of cell phone plans plus other expenses on just his income after January 2nd? AND how much money will he need while hes in iraq? i will not be working for at least 4 months because of the baby...help...thank you.

Update:

apparently noone read the entire thing before you answer...i pretty much old you what money we will be spending. and i asked how much a PFC in iraq will make...

We could not possibly answer that question without knowing your spending habits, you income, etc. And it would not be a good idea to post that information here. Get a pen and paper and work it out.

Why not sit down together and work up a budget. He won't need much money in Iraq. The majority of money is spend on crap in the PX like movies/games and food if he doesn't eat in the chow hall.

If you are or were in the military you should know how to look up pay charts etc. This is a matter between you and your husband you seem to have a lack of communication.

most cell plans allow a period of time to adjust your plan, even more so if your husband got it and has papers that shows he is leaving for iraq, the contract will be voided and you can look around for a plan that works better for you, the thing is has he got one for you so that he can reach you at all times and check on you and the baby, if that's the case he is just trying to do what is best for you all.

Call and check with the company you use and see if they have a clause that allows you to get out of it with no penalties,

I certainly hope that you know your finances better than anyone on YA. You know what you spend and what your habits are. You also know what rank your Husband is. We haven't a clue. Though it sounds as if you guys already have a plan that should work. My salute to you both and wishes for a safe and speedy return of your Husband. And congrats on the new addition.

Why not get Metro PCS for $40.00/Month.Unlimited calls, long distance voice mail and Caller Id included.Just put the extra $60.00

in the savings and use the money later.Or keep adding money for ever for future.

When you are married it is our money not his or her money, if you think that $100 is too much then speak up.

talk to your cell phone company, some of them offer a military discount, that way it will not be so high.
