J. Edgar Hoover is about the only documented homosexual in high office that I can think of and he was a Republican. But he just ran a teeny organization called the FBI.

There are rumours on Lincoln and Buchanan for really stupid reasons. Contrary to Lydia's ignorant answer - homosexuals do not assume everyone else is also homosexual.
