What is a PC-DVD? I keep seeing it and have no clue!?

Question

I am wondering what it is I have seen games that are PC-DVD (like Call of Duty) and I have no clue what they are... Are they games that you play on the computer instead of on like a game console such as xbox?? Do they only work on computers? I am so technilogically challenged and have no clue...any knowledgeable help would be appreciated...Thanks in Advance!

I didn't think that Jeanelle was being rude at all, but maybe you took it that way for some reason.

Are they the same versions?  Well, with some games they might be, but not with all games.  I know that the sims 2 games can be played on a game console, but in that version your sims cannot have babies.  Whereas on the PC version they can.  So, sometimes they might be the same, but not always.  I guess it depends on the game.

PC games don't sell quite as well (except for the sims 2 games -- they sell more than any other game in the world) because a lot of times people don't have good enough computers to play them on...or they have always played games on some type of game console and that's what they are used to, etc.

PC = personal computer

it's self explanatory

an xbox is not a personal computer

a typical PC is more powerful than the xbox, therefore the PC version of a game would have better graphics

PC-DVD just means that it's a game disk that can only be used in a PC.  It's so that people don't confuse it with movie DVD.  

The 360 DVD is the same as a PC-DVD except that the 360 DVD can only be used on a 360.  All DVD are the same in what is used to make it.
