Well normally, because the name ends in an 'a' you would use 'la / las chupacabras', however 'las' and 'la' are feminine so you could use 'los' or 'el' if you want it to be masculine.
los/las is plural - the chupacabras, whereas el/la is singular - the chupacabra.
In a name it probably doesn't matter, especially if you've made it up, however usually it would be 'la'.
