Can I sub baking powder for baking soda in a recipe?

    for 1 tsp baking powder you can substitute:

    1/3 tsp baking soda + 1/2 tsp cream of tartar or

    1/4 tsp baking soda + 1/3 c sour milk, buttermilk, or yogurt.
