Put it in waxed paper then a zip lock bag.

One way is to pre-portion your cookies by using a ice cream scoop (or other device) and lay them on a cookie sheet. Put the cookie sheet in the freezer, once the dough is frozen put the cookies in Ziploc bags. That way you can pull out just a few "cookies" at a time and bake them up in small batches. Make sure if you are layering them in bags put a layer of wax paper between layers, it will prevent sticking.

Or you can roll your dough into a log and wrap in plastic wrap and freeze ( also put the log in a freezer bag for extra protection.) When you are ready to bake cookies you simply take out your dough and cut the appropriate amount off the log.

Put a label on your bag so you know the cooking time and temperature! That way you know exactly what to do without pulling out the cookbook and you're all set.

What you wanna do is get some baking paper/paprus/non stick paper/wax paper [whatever you call it]

roll the dough into a snake or cylinder, put it on the waxpaper and wrap it. This is so that you can cut it the next time you want to bake it, then it comes out in cylinders.

I put it onto a sheet of saran wrap or other plastic wrap, smoosh it into a snake shape and roll it tightly in the saran. Once tubed and wrapped, I freeze it.

When the time comes to cook it, its easy to slice in discs of equal size for baking.
