You don't say where your citizenship is. If you are a U.S. citizen or a citizen of certain territories or have a green card then you can work in Hawaii. If you are a citizen of another country then you will have to get a work visa. It is hard to get a work visa for the U.S. You need to have specialized skills and have a company ready to sponsor you. If you are looking for a job to pay your expenses while you are enjoying Hawaii that will be difficult to do legally.

Some people work privately and get paid under the table but there can be legal consequences if you get caught. I know of two Canadians on Maui who have a house cleaning and maid service. They make a good income, don't pay any taxes, and are having a good time for now. They are hard workers and do a good job but they are taking a chance of being caught and deported. That will make it difficult for them to return to the U.S. at a later time.

Some people give out handbills on the street, work for small yard maintenance companies, or anyplace that will pay cash. You will not be able to get a job with a regular paycheck.

You should talk to the U.S. consulate nearest you for more information on the type of visa which you will be getting and what the employment restrictions are.

If you not a citizen of the United States then you will need a Green Card.

Also there are not many companies that will only hire you for a month. You will be taking a job from someone who live here and needs a job. And there are people who need jobs. If you come without knowing where you are working it could take your whole vacation time to find a job. It also depend what island you will be visiting.

All foreigners who wish to work in the United States must first obtain a work visa. A work visa is a temporary permit to live and work in the United States. Individuals who work without the appropriate visa are breaking the law and may be deported. Including Hawaii. Go to the immigration support website and you can download an application.

    Good LUCK!

No, you can't get work in the US even for a few weeks (not legally, that is). Beware of scams that offer you any employment for cash--they could be trouble. Just live simply and enjoy the lovely island.
