Presentation based on Gender issues?

Hello Angel Eye, i too studied Sociology (presuming you are too).....i have answered a question on Gender issues today already, you might find more answers on the Social Science Cat.

However you could look at the changing attitudes to men and women in the job sector over the last 50-100 years.

More and more women studying and working in what were male dominated roles.

More and more men accepting the role of 'house husband', and society and cultures view on this transformation.

i hope this will do as a start?

Do personality traits have gender?

Gender stereotypes assign characteristics according to gender. What are the problems of this? Is agression masculine? Nurturing feminine? Etc., etc.

Opposites attract. Why not? A good team is built on contrast, not duplication of skills. When a potentially good team meets with the gender-typing, do problems arise? Do we find dysfunctional poverty caused by men with nurturing characteristics trying to put together aggressive (profitable) careers while their naturally aggressive partner tries to take care of the nurturing?

I like the traditional roles vs more commonly accepted and spreading "out of the norm" roles.

Like women=cooking, cleaning, take care of the kids

men=take out the trash, work on the car, be Mr Handyman, breadwinner

nowadays men who stay home while the woman works is becoming more common and is more acceptable than it has been in the past

female mechanics and construction workers are not as surprising as they once were, etc
