Twilight book vs. movie?
For those of you who've read the book and seen the movie. Were you disappointed in the movie? Why or why not?
For me, at first I was only disappointed that it didn't last longer, and no I'm not a crazed teenager, I just think its a good love story. Of course I criticized the movie and how it wasnt like the book but thats natural because a book is always better than the movie. I did watch it a second time and I allowed myself to watch it just to enjoy it, and it was much better. I'm just curious what peoples first time reaction was to it.

I had exactly the same experience with the movie.
The second time was so much better. The first time I saw it the theatre was full of screaming teenagers out past their bedtimes. So many giggles, and screams every time they saw their favorite vampire, or...Jacob.... Um anyways, I was also too busy waiting to see what was going to happen next, and comparing it to the book to enjoy it for what it was. So much didn't happen like it did in the book I was disappointed, but what can you expect? Novel to film can only be so good. But I have to say after seeing it 3 times, I am very, VERY pleased with the movie.
Sure everything was rushed, and it didn't quite happen the way it did in the books, but I'm still happy with it. From the beginning I loved the casting, and saw the chemistry between the characters, from commercials and interviews. They were brought to life well, it gave me chills to actually see them. Also, you have to consider we all read imagining different things, so they can't please us all. But all in all, yes I loved it. Actually, I'm seeing it again tomorrow.

Typically, in most book-to-movie things, the book usually comes out on top. For me, no exception for Twilight. SO much excitement for the movie was the downfall. I remember screaming to my friends on the phone when the 1 minute trailer first came out -i'm a total fan, okay?- Anyway, i believe it was perfectly casted -yes, even Robbert Pattinson- but i didn't think the script was adapted from the book that well. I agree that it missed some important parts; it focused a more on the beggining and too less on the end. It had an amazing start and they wrapped it up nicely, with Victoria at the end. But overall, I have to say, I'm a little less crazy about the series than I was before I saw the movie.

I loved the movie!!
Of course the book is always better but the movie was awesome, I really enjoyed it. People were getting mad because I would laugh at the minor thing and I got some funny looks specially from my friends who were there with me and knid of embarrased at my loud laughter. I just really enjoyed it and had a great time.
At first I thought wow, two hours!! but then everything moved really fast
and when the movie was finished I couldn't remember much, also because I was so exited I had to keep looking the other way, so I went in and watched again. I think it was awesome and pretty funny.

I read the book and watched the movie. The first time I watched the movie I thought it was great. I didn't compare it to the book at all and that made it so much better. Not to mention I totally forgot what happened in the book anyways. But I loved the movie it was awesome.

I was disappointed in the movie, I felt like they were messing it up. The acting wasn't very good, and when I read I make up the settings, the way the people look, ect., so watching a movie that's pretty much telling me what they look like and all doesn't really make me that happy. But yes. I liked the book better than the movie, the movie had added/taken away things that I had wanted/not wanted to see.

Ugh, compared to the book, i hated the movie.
The meadow scene was kinda rushed, and that's the best part in the movie.
We didn't get to know the characters in the movie, and a lot of things weren't detailed enough, so for those who didn't read the book, probably didn't understand it.
Kristen studdered too much and it ruined some of the parts.
oh and edwards sparkles looked like sweat. Like he'd just ran a mile, and was standing in the sun, and im sure that what some people thought it was .
But if it wasn't compared to the book, it was decent, they didn't have lot to work with, and im sure with the money made on this movie, New Moon will be a lot better.

well i guess i didn't like the movie because i kept getting mad when comparing it to the book :P
like one part they took out when she said dont listen to the next thing i say then slammed the door at him yelling at him
i thought that would be confusing to a person who hadn't read that part yet in the book. bella kept stuttering and the sound effect when edward was in the sun was retarded. the first part went through like the first 6 chapters in 5 minutes D:
and i thought the meadow scene would be like the book but there wasn't even a meadow there. one part i liked on the movie was the baseball scene. i didn't see anything out of order there and i figured out what they said in the book and stuff. plus i had no idea how to picture some of the characters so i watched the movie and i know what they look like now. that was good.
i just kept comparing it so thats probably why i didn't like it as much. it also could have been longer and more like the book.
i thought that parts would be confusing to a person who hadn't read the book. that movie is pretty much only for people who HAVE read the book through.

i liked the book better. The characters in the movie were messed up. I was disappointed in the movie because it didn't represent the book. I was disappointed that it didn't last longer also. I was extremely mad after I got out of the movie. Then I cooled off and realized they couldn't make it exactly like the book, but they could have had better actors!!!!!!!!!

OK, I haven't watched the movie yet (watching it tomorrow with a big group of people), but I heard the movie was amazing. Some of the important ideas of the story were not in the movie and I heard that lots of the scenes were cut off. I think the book is better, that's what I think, but I'll have to see tomorrow.

I honestly like the book better.
Ahha me and my friend was discussing that.. it was 2 hours long but if they would of made it 4, i think it would of been better.. If stephen king can do 4 hour movies.. twilight fans can stay in a theatre for that long watching an amazing movie.
