How did Dr. House hurt his leg?

House entered into a relationship with Stacy Warner, a constitutional lawyer, after she shot him during a "Lawyer vs. Doctors" paintball match. Five years later, during a game of golf, he suffered an infarction in his right leg, which went misdiagnosed for three days due to doctors' concerns that he was exhibiting drug-seeking behavior (House eventually diagnosed the infarction himself). An aneurysm in his thigh had clotted, leading to an infarction and causing his quadriceps muscle to become necrotic. House had the dead muscle bypassed in order to restore circulation to the remainder of his leg, risking organ failure and cardiac arrest. He was willing to endure excruciating post-operative pain to retain the use of his leg. After House was put into a chemically induced coma to sleep through the worst of the pain, Stacy, House's medical proxy, acted against his wishes and authorized a safer surgical middle-ground procedure between amputation and a bypass by removing just the dead muscle. This resulted in the partial loss of use in his leg, and left House with a lesser, but still serious, level of pain for the rest of his life. House could not forgive Stacy for making the decision, so she left him.

He was having leg pain, which went undiagnosed and it turned out to be a blood clot. Three days later he finally figured out what it was, but the clot had caused a lot of muscle death in his leg. They needed to amputate it to keep it from spreading the toxins through his body. Stacy was his girlfriend at the time.

House refused to have his leg amputated and said he could take the pain of the toxins, but it got to be too much. House asked to be put in a coma until the pain was gone and when he was in a coma, Stacy had DPOA and had them remove most of the muscle and tissue that was dead. The pain he has now is from residual nerve damage.

We just recently got into House MD. What exactly happened to House's leg, and how is Stacy involved?

He had some kind of accident or problem and if the doctor's did not operate or amputate his leg he would have died.

He specifically told them not to remove his leg, then he went into some kind of coma.

Stacy directed the doctors to remove his leg and save his life, and then I think he got mad at her.

(ok apparently they didn't remove his whole leg, just a lot of tissue...and the painkiller is vicodin, not vikaden)

somthing happened to it (i dont remember exactly what it was) but it was like an infection or something that was killing the tissue in his leg. Stacy was his wife (or girlfriend) at that time and she gave the ok (after he was under anesthesia ) for the doctors to take away the infected tissue when house did not want that because he didnt want to be a "cripple" hence, the tension.

He had an infarction in his right thigh.

This infarction in his leg blocked the flow of blood.

The painkillers he uses are called Vikadin...

Something happened and caused the tissue to start to die, they saved what they could.
