Requests or Questions - Do you think there is a difference?

In Yahoo answers, I have answered a number of questions. However the requests (where someone want you to manipulate an image) have been largely ignored by me. Reason being is that when I fix an image for someone, I feel that I am depriving them of learning how to do this

themselves.

What do you think. Should Yahoo Answers only be for supplying

'answers' or should it also be for 'doing something for nothing for

others'?

This is an answer forum. I don't do things for people on here either. If they can't do it themselves, they can pay someone to do it, but they're not getting free work from me.

I am in the same train of thought as you are.

I used to manipulate and photoshop images for people here but then one day a kid wanted me to manipulate his graduation pictures for him and I was hit with the Virtumonde Trojan.

I don't do it anymore without being paid (somebody's paying for all this virus software I had to buy).

Education is what I do and I also answer questions by the literal understanding of the question... if you want to know if I know someone who takes images of landfills, I'll answer 'yes' or 'no' with no further information... you didn't ask for a name, just if I know someone.

There are a lot of useless questions coming into Yahoo and they aren't filtering out stupid - so why should I?!

Thanks for being someone who shares my perspective. I was beginning to think I was alone.

I sometimes will do things for people. It is just something I decide on an individual basis. If it is not something extremely time consuming or difficult and I have the time, I don't mind it once in a while. I don't, however, waste one second on some moron practically orderiing people to make his crap "Mahh Space pix kewl like dis" without even so much as a thank you.

I think it should be a "Question & Answer" forum only. There is a major difference between asking a question and requesting that someone do something.

If there are people willing to take care of both requests or questions, why not?
