Found this on Wikipedia, In the United States, solicitation is a crime; it is an inchoate offense that consists of a person offering money or something else of value in order to incite or induce another to commit a crime with the specific intent that the person solicited commit the crime.

You are a top contributor on level 4. You should have understood Yahoo's solicitation - not necessarily the dictionary meaning.
Your piano exam has nothing to do with the community. Neither do the community benefit in any way from your question.
Asking readers on Yahoo around the whole world to wish you luck in your exam is like making incantations on internet. It becomes even worse when you rain abusive words "....is an @****" If I were you, I will simply ignore.
I once got 3 violations in a day for asking the community to ask me any question of their choice. If you got 3 violations in a day, looks as if you will pull out a gun

Solicitation means to persistently ask for something. For example, soliciting donations to a charity. In terms of a violation here, it would include posts that persistently urge people to go to a certain website or to buy something.

What you did was solicitation under the YA rules. The definition of solicitation in YA is asking the users to do something other than just answer the question. There are some examples that most people think are innocent, but they are violations. Example include
selling anything (even if free)
buying anything (even if free)
asking people to take polls outside of YA
prayer requests of any kind or religion
asking for or offering to make outfits or designs
asking people to edit photos for you
asking people for stars, votes, points, or anything of that sort
asking people to answer a question and just giving them the link to a previous question
asking people to e-mail you or IM you
asking people to go to another website to do anything such as rate, vote, etc
There are very rare exceptions, but just stay away from these. Some of these can also be considered other violation types such as "not a question".

Solicitation means 'inviting someone to help you or participate with you or otherwise complicitate with you in the performance of a crime or act that is against the law or against a set code or against accepted morality. But I think I agree with you. Your additional details doesn't seem to fit the violation! Some people who report these things don't have their heads on straight.

Getting suspended on here goes with the job. I have lost count of the number of times they have got shot of me but who cares it only takes a couple of Min's to open a new account and all you can lose are some points.

by the time anyone figures out community guidelines and interprets what each violation, solicitation, chatting etc. etc. actually is, we'll all be guilty of something.
