Today is National Heritage Day to honor American Indians,Today only!Your thoughts for a permanent holiday. ?

More American Indians than any other group serve in the U.S. Military. This holiday is for today only.Following Thanksgiving because without their help the colonist would have starved.

    replace columbus day like they do in south dakota. that whole thing is based on a lie anyway.

    we NEED to have a national holiday to HONOR AMERICAN INDIANS!!! after all, we stole this land from them!!

    i'll sign the petition!!!

    and, i think it only fitting to have this on the day after Thanksgiving! My GOD Columbus has a holiday and he didn't even discover this country!

    yes i do think we should! we have a lot of holidays for different nationality's and they were here before we were and we "took the land from them" i think they should have had the first holiday celebrating a race, balck ppl have one, latins, irish..... its their turn!

    I think we should replace MLK day with Chief Josef day
