How can I change a .pdf image to a .jpg image?

The scanner at work creates .pdf or .tif files. I need a .jpg (or other Microsoft Word compatible file) to import into a Word document (the .tif file doesn't work).

PDF files are designed to be secure, so the only way you'd get around that is to have Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Try to scan in the TIFF format, and then see if you can convert to jpeg in Microsoft Paint using the "save as" command and then choosing jpeg under "file type". (I'm a photoshop person, but I'm pretty sure this is possible in MS Paint)

You need a program that can create pdf files. MS Office, Open Office both can. There are also free sites on the web that will do the conversion for you. I don't use them as I have Adobe Acrobat, which is Adobe's product to make pdf files.... but I have friends that use the websites often and they seem to like them. Do a google search
