Is "Black Friday" one of the most disgusting displays of humanity out there?

I read that a greeter from Walmart was trampled and killed today. 34 years old. Well lets at least hope the people got that LCD TV for a cheap price. Pathetic.

Maybe of the lack of humanity.

I've never shopped on black Friday, unless online counts.

I agree. What do these people and society have to say for themselves after this? In a nutshell, a guy died for a TV set. Sickening and pathetic. When stuff like this happens it only makes you wonder why countries dislike us so much, huh? PATHETIC! Can't people shop with dignity. Consumerism has GONE TOO FAR!

Just because that happened there, it doesn't mean that happened all over the country. I went shopping this morning, and yes I ran into the store like everyone else, and I had a great time. I got lot's of great deals and had an awsome day shopping. Everyone at the Target store I was at was friendly and civilized, so don't generalize all Black Friday shoppers.

By the way, why is this is the gay category? *rolls eyes*

Honestly, what happened to that man isn't a reason to demean a holiday that happens every year. I mean the security must be terrible that something like some one getting trampled to death happened. It's the security fault as well as the impatient buyers who run over people as if they are door mats. Kids get hurt by this too. It's ridiculous that some one died.

Mob mentality is always a dangerous situation.

And until these stores start getting hit with large lawsuits they will not change the fact that they are setting the system up for this type of mentality.

Unfortunately Black friday is only one of many uniquely American displays of overindulgence, the first and probably the worst is the fact that the Detroit lions play every thanksgiving subjecting us to there horrible defense

Yeah, and the worst part is that the shoppers didn't even try to help him up!

Instead, they just pushed other people out of the way to get $50 off an iPod or something.

Black Friday disgust me and the way people act on it is more disgusting.

I really don't blame the people so much I blame the stores they hipe people up so much into making them believe that they will save so much money that people become desperate. It's really pitiful.

    Materialism at it's best.

well i think those types of sales attract certain types of animals... er people who (deep down) look forward to hurting others. it's not cute. it's sick.

Source(s): this isn't the first time this has happened - stores need to be more responsible instead of encouraging this type of chaos.
