female alto Audition song?

I am auditioning for my school's musical, Urinetown and i need an audition song. I am an alto and im 17 years old. The song should be from a musical, preferably not one that is extremely popular at the moment. Please no rent, hairspray, chicago, Wicked, or high school musical (which shouldn't even count as a real musical).

Another musical you can look into is "All Shook Up". Natalie, the lead in that musical, is supposed to be an alto I believe. All the songs in the musical are by Elvis though, so I am not sure that counts. ha ha.

There's that song from Urinetown called It's a Privalage to Pee or something like that. I've only seen the show once.

In My Own Little Corner from Cinderella doesn't go that high I believe.

You only need 16 bars right?

Remember also that if you choose the right 16 bars, that'll help you.

There are Worse Things I could Do or Look At Me, I'm Sandra Dee from Grease

    Little Girls from Annie

Far From the Home I Love from Fiddler on the Roof

Sixteen Going on Seventeen from Sound of Music

An English Teacher from Bye Bye Birdie

    Hope that helps!

    Break a leg! :)

Rose's Turn- Gypsie (They sang it on Glee it's really good for altos) Funny Girl- Funny Girl I Can Hear the Bells- Hairspray Amazing Mayzie- Seussical (This song is very upbeat and crazy I would only use for an over the top roll) I Know Things Now- Into the Woods

One good, relatively well-known piece is "Alone, and Yet Alive", sung by Katisha from the comic operetta "THE MIKADO". However, Katisha is really more of a contralto.
