Interesting Question - Why do they make cars?
Why make cars that can go WAY over ANY speed limit, when you aren't legally allowed to drive that fast?
If they didn't make them to go that fast, wouldn't there be a few less accidents and tickets?
I just think ALL cars should have a reduced limit. I'm not so concerned with the Autobahn.

How many of us would buy a car that had a small engine and would only run about 70 MPH top speed. While I agree with you somewhat... to build such a car.. most of us here in America would not buy such a car.

Its a marketing ploy... people buy them as a status symbol. its like in the uk a 4x4 is a status symbol but 90% of them never use the 4x4 drive & are afraid to take them off road because they might get them a bit dirty.

in Europe, on the freeways, there are no speed limits, so the big three if they ever hope to sell a car in Europe better make one that goes real fast.
