Am I crazy or is it just coincidence?

I keep having dreams of dying. First my son and i got shot by an intruder in our home last year, then two days before that man and his kids drowned on the news, I dreamt that my son and I were in a car and the breaks didn't work and the car rolled into a puddle and we drowned. these dreams are so scary coz after I die in the dream, that's it. everything goes black and I am waking myself to make sure they aren't real i go in and check my son. it's starting to freak me out and I'm scared to fall asleep or watch the news. I've tried lucid dreaming and trying to control it but it happens too quickly. what can I do?
