What did Bella mean when she said....?

TWILIGHT:

She was talking about her mother. That's pretty much a flash-forward (if there is such a thing) to where she is trying to save her mother from James. Bella knows that if she gives herself to James, she'll in turn save her mother.

It's definitely NOT Edward, because in this book, he wasn't the one in danger; she and her mother were.

ECLIPSE: (spoiler!)

In THIS book, she's talking about Edward. This is when she's ready to sacrifice her blood to Victoria in an effort to distract her from Edward, whom she has cornered and about ot kill. In this book, Edward IS in immediate danger and in a risk of 'death'.

Is this in Twilight, either the book or the movie?

If so, Bella is going to go to the ballet studio after James called her on the phone to save her mother. She would rather die than for James to kill her mother, especially because James is threatening her family because he is chasing her.

Is this in Eclipse?

If so, she is remembering the tale of the Third Wife. The Third Wife is the wife of Taha Aki, the last great werewolf chief. Taha Aki once killed a vampire, and the vampire's mate came back to kill him. The vampire's mate kills Taha Aki and the Third Wife's child, and is about to kill Taha Aki when the Third Wife, a human like Bella (not a werewolf or vampire), cuts herself and distracts the vampire with the scent of her blood. The Third Wife is killed by the vampire but because of her sacrifice, Taha Aki is able to kill the vampire and save the village.

Bella deeply identifies with the Third Wife, and considers it noble to die for someone you love as the Third Wife did for Taha Aki. In Bella's case, Edward.

She says she had never given much thought to how she would die. But if she died to save edward it would be ok.

She is also saying she would be willing to die in order to be with Edward for the rest of her life--existence-- and to take the thirst away from him.

It means she's a Mary Sue with a martyr complex. She's ready to die for someone she loves in the prologue of every single book, for crying out loud.

well in twilight she is willing to die to save her mother so she escapes to the dance studio. But further in the book she is mainly willing to die for edward, like in eclipse where she wanted to be the sacrifice which would distract the vampires.

She's saying that she knows that she is going to die, so if she is going to die, it should be for someone she loves. Or that she would rather live, so that edward survives than surviving while edward dies.

i thought she was talking about edward first but now i think she was talking about her mum.

maybe she was also talking about edward because she didnt want him to follow james but i think she meant her mum because she went to save her or to die in her place when she realised her mum wasn't there. she was dying instead of her mum to save her. i think. lol

the prolouge and the part where james try's to kill her are most of the same lines............she is pretty much infering what will happen

she said "i never gave much thought to when i would die, but atleast it was near someone i loved" or something like that

she would like to be by her mom (she thought was there) or edward(when she actually does die) ect.

when she said she would die for someone she loved, she was saying instead of having jams kill edward she would have james kill her. so basicly, she was sacrfaiceing herself for edward.

like.....

instead of having edward die she was dieing in him place.\

and she thought that was a noble act.
