First time taking exams?

Ok, so this year is the first time I'm taking exams. They are coming up in about 3 weeks and I'm kinda nervous =/ English, Spanish and Algebra are the classes that I have to exams on, and english isn't my strongest subject and I'm worried ill do bad.. I've started studying and reviewing everything we've learned this year and I know ill do fine on Spanish and Algebra, just not english..

Any tips on how I can stop getting worried?

Worrying could be an obstruction to doing your best on an exam.

Frankly, it's a waste of energy to worry about something - if you can do something to make the outcome better (and you are) that's good and worry won't make it better; and if there's nothing you can do, worry won't fix it. There is evidence to support that "cramming" for a test makes things worse...if you've done your homework and class studies all along, your memory will bring it back almost by instinct...long term memory versus short term memory. Review is okay, but the best medicine is to be healthy, rested, nourished and alert. Go to bed early and have a good breakfast. That way you will be at your best - it can't get any better. And remember, an exam is a measure of what you've learned NOT a measure of your worth or your potential to learn. You can always go back and learn what you missed. Think of it as a progress report not a final condemnation.

Ok, relax. Just think about other things and take a break before studying. Just make sure that you don't keep thinking about failure because that's not good! Make sure you look through your notes every night until the exam because that way it can help you remain confident that you're going to do well. =]

The first time I had to take college exams, the prof told us we needed to bring "blue books" in for the exam. I had no idea what he was talking about, and had to walk into the campus bookstore asking for them.

"Blue books" are just these small booklets of ruled paper with a blue paper cover that are used for essay exams. So just have a bunch handy just in case they require it for your exams.

read books and go back to all the notes and see what key things u have written down for writing an essay and short stories, and which guy said an important line on the book what it means and how it effected the plot and all that crap for English.

You need to calm down....my first advice to you is that you should go to tutorials and have a one on one time with your teacher and just tell him or her to review that the things over for you....this is the best way to get help....and one more thing don't over think it because then you will do bad...just think of it as a worksheet that is over things you have done over the year....**** luck!!!

All i can say is just relax and do your best. if you study 1 hour per night and believe that you can do good then you will pass.
