What medical TV show is your favorite?

Early ER was gold. Fantastic. The cast was great, but as cast members left the show later on, the magic was gone. The genius was that no character stood out: like Friends, they had near-equal screen time.

I've never been one for Scrubs, it's just a bit too immature. Not rubbish, but just not my kind of TV. House reminds me of myself, so I watch that.

M*A*S*H was truly brilliant. It changed completely from early to late seasons, and lost ideas for good plots, but managed to keep the magic. Alan Alda appeared in every episode (I believe), and is one of the best actors in history, without a doubt.

My all time favorite is and probably always will be St. Elsewhere.

It was very realistic; portraying the highs and lows in a cash strapped county hospital. It explored topics of life and death honestly, but also had just the right amount of black humor.

Also, it had, IMHO, the very best ending to a series I have ever seen. many people did not like the way it ended at all, but I thought it was genius:

I like Grey's Anatomy because of the characters and story line. ER is another favorite, but Iiked it better earlier in the series. The story lines were more interesting.

Emergency! from the 1970's. I belonged to their fan club and faithfully watched the show every week. I have all the seasons they have out on DVD and still love watching the show. Loved all the characters. Great storylines, like Johnny getting bit by the rattlesnake. That show made the word "paramedic" a household name. Very cool show!

Kingdom Hospital by Stephen King.

Grey's Anatomy is my current favourite but I loved watching Chicago Hope when it was on.

Scrubs because it is absolutely hilarious.
