Why American always divided the world into 3 part, first, second and third world countries?
I think its very discriminative because it makes people living in third world countries feel underestimate

The term came into use in the 60's First world was the western democracies the second world was the Communist countries and the Third world was made up of countries that were not aligned to either.
it has only been in the last twenty years or so that Third World has come to mean poor countries.

Why are you doing it then? You could divide the world into two sections, rich and poor, but it doesn't change the reality that some parts of the world are better of. This is important in some conversations.

How would you prefer to divide the countries? Haves and have nots? Modern and modern-challenged? I think this particular classification is as gentle a way of phrasing as possible.

It's not an "American" thing, it's a pretty universal concept to determine the development of a country.
