Who am I politically? Can smart people help me define?
Here are my views on the most important issues:
a) I am OK with abortions done in the first trimester but absolutely against partial-birth abortions – well, with certain known exceptions
b) I am unconditionally against the death penalty at all times
c) I have no problem with people buying hunting rifles or other hunting firearms, knives or arches but oppose availability of any other kinds of firearms to the public because my right to safety superceeds one's "right" to carry a handgun or an automatic gun.
d) I am for limited government, broad states’ rights and low taxes but I want a real debate on what “low taxes” mean instead of repeating like a parrot “lower my taxes, lower my taxes…”
e) I am sure that universal heath care is the only solution but we can and should have discussion on who will be that “single payer”, government or somebody else
f) I have absolutely no problem with gay people marrying each other and believe people are born gay
g) I believe religion must be kept in the places of worship. I don’t want “one nation under god”, I want “one nation under Constitution”
h) I am absolutely pro-free trade as long as it is also fair trade
i) I believe the US must continue to play the leading role in the world affairs and to protect its interests worldwide, even if we have to use our military might for it
j) I have always been against the war in Iraq
k) I believe that all illegal immigrants should be deported first and then, if they qualify, be given a chance to apply for their work visas and/or green cards. BTW, I am a first generation immigrant (came to the US legally)
l) I believe we should drastically reduce our dependance on foreign oil but to do that in full steps, not half steps like drilling in Alaska
m) I do not believe that life begins at conception. I believes it begins with the first beat of the fetuce’s heart
n) I wholeheartedly support steam-cell research
o) I belive marijuana should be de-criminalized and available to adults in special cafes like it is in the Netherlands

Forgot to add: I always vote across the table based on who I think is better suited to fulfill the duties of a particular office
TONY - when somebody's breaking into your house and threatening to kill or harm you or your family, I'm the first one to say "kill that mo-fo in the most painful way right here right now". But not after 15-20 years when you put a helpless human being to death even though that person may not deserve to live.
MORTIMER - whoever you are politically, you either can't or don't want to listen to what I said. I said there should be a single payer in healthcare but I'd welcome a healthy debate on who this single payer should be.
I might be Liberal (in the normal sense of this word) but I am sure as hell not a Democrat and don't think I'll ever be.

You are a confused Liberal, almost able to think for yourself, but not quite. You have difficulty connecting related issues and you don't spell very well. The later may be a result of your conversion to English, but then many born in America types don't spell well either.
You didn't say where you immigrated from, so, I would guess that it was eastern Europe where you were propagandized early in your life and have not been able to sort out the conflicting information.
Keep thinking about it and questioning why you believe what you say you believe and I think you will eventually sort it all out.

all over the place. you are a neocon. you say you want small government yet think the government should provide healthcare, you arent free trade if you want government involved in health care, or if you think some drugs should be illegal, or if you think business should be regulated to the point that you feel is fair, rather than allowing individuals to engage in voluntary transactions, and you obviously dont understand/support the constitution to well if you support the things ive named above.

Labels are not necessary. I choose to go without and have similar views, but I have been to enough crime scenes to know that the death penalty is absolutely under utilized and delayed too long. Can't get with you there.

I am with you at every point except "o" . I am a yellow dog democrat and evidently you are also. one other point, I crossed the line one time and voted for Richard Nixon so it will be very unlikely that I stray again.lol good luck
