Of course they will!! I'm 20 i'm in a relationship (not married) and never had a child. I got mine in today actually and although its better if you have had a child they say this because its easier on your body to accept something being there, but it doesn't mean you HAVE to have a baby.

It did hurt and I did have cramps right away but 800mg of ibuprofine has helped a lot.

12 years of no worries about birth control, no hormones or nasty side effects, and I can take it out whenever I want. its worth it.

Go to planned parents hood, or your regular doctor/obgyn they will do it for you.

Source(s): Ignore the guy that keeps saying Christian over and over again (2nd post down) He is just being an ass. ___ Also don't listen to the person above me ( I sound bossy huh? sorry but I want you to know the truth) You DO NOT need to be married or in a relationship to get the paragard, NOR do you NEED to of had a child. Its just recommend but they WILL insert it for you whether you are single/married/gay/straight/purple/or a tree....maybe not a tree. But you get my point. I got mine at planned parent hood no questions ask weather I was married or not. They asked if I had kids but it didn't effect there choice to give it to me. Go see your doc or planned parenthood I can almost 100% grantee they will do it for you if its what you want. Btw my best friend recommend it to me, she is married but has never had a child either and even if she was or wasn't married they wouldn't of denied her.

The guy above me sounds like a jerk don't he?

A lot of doctors won't insert one in a woman who hasn't had kids AND is a single woman.

IUDs are strictly for women who are IN a monogamous relationship and have had at least one child already.

But of course there are doctors who will still insert one for you. Just ask around.

And if you are a Christian, get some advice too from maybe your pastor's wife? There is controversy that the IUD causes abortions.

nicely, putting aside the plain and acceptable comments others have made, i could say the youngster is actual a sufferer of psychological infant abuse because of the fact he/she has continually been made to sense no longer almost as good as his/her siblings and in turn, it is going to reason lifelong thoughts of low self-well worth, low self esteem and frequent rejection. in my opinion I recommend you talk this with youngster's centers and get their opinion.

Hmmm....a christian girl planning something un-christian-like...?

Christian, if you are 18 or older, yes, a doctor will insert the IUD. Some states may require you to stay overnight in the hospital for an after-install examination 24 hours later. If you are under 18 then a doctor should require parental consent...

Now, something more serious to consider is the IUD itself. It can be painful, as expected, during installation but "may" also be painful later on...a piercing pain...as result of daily activity or from excessively active sexual penetration and / or excessive penis length. In this event, the IUD should be removed as it probably has been dislodged and can cause further problems...

The IUD has a success rate of 98%...how "lucky" are you...? Do you like to gamble...?

I would suggest you speak to your GYN to determine what is best for you, Christian...

I am guessing you to be in your 20's years, Christian, and feel I do understand your intentions...been there, done that...! Just remember that yours is a gift not meant to be abused and that happiness is the reward for making good choices...

I wish you all that happiness can provide, Christian...
