Many people say that college is the best time of your life, but I firmly believe that is up to the individual! I also really dislike my college and have had a miserable time thus far.
Your happiness is part of your success. You can't expect to make good grades when you loathe the university/your professors/your classes, etc. I think the smartest move you can make is to tell your mother that you are not enjoying your college experience.
Before you do this, you might also want to look into different schools and create a list of how much tuition would cost, will your previous credits transfer, what is the student life like?, etc.
You are an adult now, and even though you are still very close with your parents and may still rely on them for support and money, it is your life and you need to make the best decision for yourself. I'm sure your mother will understand if you tell her with honesty and present the alternatives.
Good luck!
