Holliday (now with A's) or Soriano: who's the better keeper?
I'm allowed 4 keepers in my fantasy baseball league. Pujols, Reyes and Miggy Cabrera are locks. But who's the 4th? It's a H2H league with a lot of stats: H, R, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, K, AVG.
I asked about keepers a few weeks ago, but now that Holliday's not a Rockie, I am reconsidering...

I would have to go w/ Soriano. The A's play their home game in the one of the best pitcher's park in the AL. Holliday had much better stats at Coors' Field (.997 OPS at Home) than on the road (.892 OPS on the road) last year. Note: OPS is On Base Pct. + Slugging Pct. Holliday is switching from one of the top hitter's parks in baseball (#3 in 2008) to one of the worst (#26 in 2008). I expect Holliday's numbers to slip quite a bit while w/ the A's. Soriano is the safer pick for a keeper league.

Holliday is the way to go here. The A's still won't be contenders, and Holliday will bear all the weight of getting asses in seats so they can improve their $ and get there. Lots of pressure...but he's yer guy, man. My prediction...he'll put up better numbers than ever. You may have to wait 'til June to see it pay off. Soriano's the reliable bet, if that's the answer you wanna hear. But Holliday, once acclimated, will destroy the competition in the West. I like Holliday.
