will the vortec heads on my 99 tahoe 350 fit on a 78 chevy 350 block and work with it without any problems?
im using everything old from my old vortec just the 78 block itself...
the manifold from the vortec motor is going on it...

yes! but if your using the 78 intake, you will either have to change the intake to newer model one, or cut out the 4 center bolts on the old one i do it all the time.they also make a kit that comes with most new alum intakes for the 4 center hole most performance shops or catalogs will have them,

they should the only diference between the older heads an the vortec heads are that they are a smaller cc.. we just put a set of heads off a 97 tahoe 454 onto a 77 big block 454...

the heads will bolt on but the intake manifold from the 78 will not bolt up to the newer heads.

could just need new plugs and wires, try the 2 prone spark plugs if you dont have them already and regular wires, they could just be bad

i don't really thing it will work cause the intake might be different, just look at it
