just had my first annual exam done... a couple questions?

my first annual exam so i could get on birth control. after looking at the patient receipt from the office, i know they did STD testing (not for AIDS) which i know i dont really need, but i guess its good... anyway, i didnt ask her bc at the time i forgot but if i had any kind of infection did she test for it or would she know right away? because she didnt say anything to me then... and idk if i have an infection but i have been having a little discharge lately, nothing crazy but a bit more than usual. i thought it might be normal but i cant be positive. Anyone know if she would have said something to me? thx

Update:

ive never even heard of Lutera soo any info would help :0)

Update 2:

im not saying i havent had sex. but i have been with only a couple of guys , long term relationships and im very very confident i have nothing. but thx

If you are sexually active you get these tests at your first yearly. That is safe medical practice, and is the best for you. Doctor's really don't pay attention to girls that say they are not having sex. Girls hide it, and they know it. I have seen girls SWEAR they have never had sex, and they were obviously pregnant. Like 7-8 months along. This was when I was a nurse in the ER.

Some doctors will say something, some won't totally depends on their beside manner. I would think that the doctor would have said what they were getting during the exam, but depends on the doc.

For the future- always know what is being done to you. It is your responsibility as a patient to take charge of your health care. You only have yourself...the doctor has thousands of patients and things fall in between the cracks at times. If you know what tests are being performed- you will know when everything is ok.

    Good luck girl!

  • Most likely the test will be sent out to a lab so the doctor won't know until the test results are returned. If you are positive for anything they will call you.

They determine your tooth and agenda you and appointment later. It is a step-by-step method. They are not anything however civilian dentist with an uniform. If main paintings must be performed they're going to do it or assign you to a nearby denist off base. too convenient. once you do the determine up you're going to be located in a cat two or one million class. if no longer you're going to be a cat three

She would know if you had an infection after your pap came back from the lab. Trust me, they will tell you. Don't worry about it. Discharge is a sign of many things... sometimes its a sign that your about to have your monthly period or that you are about to start ovulating. If you had a clear infection she would have inquired about it.... I would think.

If you have something, they'll see it. My doctor always said "no news is good news."
