How long does sex last?

I don't know, but I guess I'll find out when my long distance girlfriend from Norway comes to visit me in 5 weeks.

People talk about it lasting hours but honestly, one go, from start to finish is usually only maybe a few minutes for me. I mean, I can do it more than once, though, so maybe that would make it less disappointing. I know women tend to take longer than we do to get off so I am constantly worried I've disappointed whomever I am with. But I must lack some serious self control or something. The only reason it would be longer is when other things are involved than just actual sex (like kissing and that sort of thing -- that can go on for a long time). Usually the bit leading up to the sex can last for anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more so if people are including that, then it would be an average of like an hour or two. I never know what people mean; whether they want to know how long it takes altogether or JUST the actual sex part.

When I was doing it with the last one it lasted about 10 minutes most of the time. I wanted it to last 45 minutes.

It depends on your definition of sex. Intercourse itself from foreplay to climax usually lasts from 10 to 25 minutes for the average person. However if you define it more broadly it can last for much longer including first contact and including post climax interaction.

It also depends on age. As we age it lasts longer which can be both good and bad.

sex w/ my boyfriend usually lasts about forty mins (im not tooo sure because for whatever strange reason, im not really good at keeping time while we're in the act)

i know we were doing it for 15 mins once and it seemed incredibly short and i dont like 'long' sex because after a while it feels like a stick jus constantly plummeling you... it doesnt exactly feel good anymore so our 40 sumthing mins is good to me.
