I keep having vivid dreams of dying what does this mean?

I keep having these dreams of dying and they are so real I wake up gasping for air and terrified. The first one was when my son and i were asleep and we were woken by these flashing lights and we looked out the window and my front yard was full of police cars and ambulances, then there was a knock on the door and two police entered and one pointed a gun at me with this horrid smile on his face and I heard the gun go off and i felt the bullet enter my brain and everything went black. I thought "Am I dead?"i waited and I waited but the dream didn't return and It took a struggle to wake myself.

The second was where I was driving a car with my son and a few other kids to the kids parents place and we drove around the back and it had been raining and I pulled the car up in front of a puddle but the hand break didn't work properly and the car rolled head first into the puddle which was much deeper than it looked and the mud came into the windows and i just had enought time to grab my son's hand before everything went black and I thought "This is it, I'm dead" i had to force my self awake, I was gasping for air when i did wake up. two days later that man and his kids drowned from falling off the warph. I have tried having lucid dreams to control them but it happens too quickly. What do they mean, the first one was last year the second one was this year, please help I used to love dreams but now I'm happy if I don't remember my dreams.

Try not to worry, dreams are important, especially in problem-solving so it is important if you remember them.

One of two things could be happening here; firstly is there something happening in your life right now that you feel out of control of? And was there a similar situation at the time of the previous dream? Dreams of this kind usually point to something like that. Chances are it's something you are able to do something about. You may find that if you do have another dream like this (which, hopefully you won't!) but you might be able to turn and prevent what happens; proving that you are capable of it in reality too.

As the dreams were so far apart it could point to a dream brought about by REM Atonia which is basically when you enter REM sleep and your muscles are temporarily paralysed. This happens on and off throughtout the night, every night to everyone. (We need this so that we don't get up and act out our dreams!) But one thing that can happen as a result is a dream of being trapped, chased or feelings similar to those you have described; our mind knows our body is powerless and transforms this into a dream. Nothing to worry about but still an unpleasant experience!

Unless the dreams are very frequent and recurrent you shouldn't worry too much. But if you are aware of something that is bothering you (maybe also concerning your son?) then see if you can resolve it; you have had these dreams because your subconscious is trying to alert you to something.

    Take care.

    xx

Edit: I should also point out that dreams involving death of any kind are rarely prophetic; it often just means you are aware of the end of something in your life and it could be something simple.

    Dying

Not a portent of death per se.

    1. If you dream of dying yourself, then all your troubles will soon be over and you can start anew. However, it could also mean that a part of you is dying and, if the other symbols in the dream tell you that it’s a part of you that you like, you’d better find a way to resurrect it, and fast.

    2. Sometimes this can be a wish-fulfillment dream, if you dream that someone who is causing trouble for you is dying. Don’t feel guilty; this is a better way to manifest that wish than other ways!

    3. Dreams in which the dreamer talks with dead people imply that very welcome news is on its way

To dream that you die in your dream, symbolizes inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or in your life. Although such a dreams may bring about feelings of fear and anxiety, it is no cause for alarm and is often considered a positive symbol. Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. These changes does not necessarily imply a negative turn of events. Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something.

On a negative note, to dream that you die may represent involvement in deeply painful relationships or unhealthy, destructive behaviors. You may feeling depressed or feel strangled by a situation or person in your waking life. Perhaps your mind is preoccupied with someone who is terminally ill or dying. Alternatively, you may be trying to get out of some obligation, responsibility or other situation.

To see someone dying in your dream, signifies that your feelings for that person are dead or that a significant change/loss is occurring in your relationship with that person. Alternatively, you may want to repress that aspect of yourself that is represented by the dying person.

Vivid dreams are fun. If you know for sure you're dreaming (called a lucid dream) sometimes you can change things in your dream and redirect how its going. The real fun dreams are when you wake up in your dream so you think that you're in reality but you're really just in a different level of your dream. Just be careful not to wake up too suddenly when you're dreaming that deep or you'll encounter sleep paralysis which is scary the first few times.

  • The most important thing to remember when you have a dream about dying, it is meant to be helpful to you in order to teach you to deal with death and loss. Dreams of death usually happen during a time of change, whether it is your children growing older or someone close to your dying. A dream of death is just your mind’s natural response to a scary or upsetting situation. This dream can be a signal that you need to learn to deal with changes

dont worry dreams are very confusing most the time they dont acutally mean what your seing... for example if you dream you go on holiday, it usualy is a sign that someones job is going to change, not that your actually going on holiday.

death is the most comon one, most of the time it means in a years time someone you know will be pregnant or will have given birth to a baby. so keep your eyes open for peoples bellys getting bigger lol

xxx good luck dont worry xxx

Dreams of death represent the ending of one phase so that a new one can begin. It can show forthcoming finalities such as the end of a marriage or career.
