I am trying to burn a movie to a cd with a Gateway ....Help!!!!?
I have a Gateway INtel 4, it say I have a DVD/CD-RW Drive(E:) under devices with removeavle storage. I downloaded a burn program , and have tried for two days to transfer a movie to a dvd+R 8x disc. The problem says I don't have a disc in the drive,so I All I can come up with is Copy to a CD, but I can't get access to Drive E.......I haven't found my computer book yet to see how to get Drive E to work and it's the only choice it gives me for burning a dvd. Can you help me? I called Gateway support and it said they filed bankruptcy and I couldn't get technical help from them. Thank you, and if you have more questions or want to give me step by step you can email me at auntkarendjjb@yahoo.com.......

sounds like either the drive or the disc is bad. probably the drive. if this is a new system, take the tower back and have the drive repaired/replace. if not, they're easy enough to replace. look here

You can't burn DVD's with your drive. You can only burn CD's. If you had a dvd burner, it would say you have a DVD/R/RW, not DVD/CD-RW. That means you can read DVDs and CD's, but only burn CD's.
To burn to a dvd, you would have to purchase a second drive that has burning capabilities for DVD's. You can find them pretty cheap these days (~40-50)
