Its the forbidden fruit. The taste of something so sweet that it has to be forbidden. Vampires are immortal. They are strong. They are confident. They are seductive.

The apple is symbolic of what vampires have that we humans don't have. They have long life and have seen many wonders throughout the ages of time. They have strength. Their confidence levels are through the roof. They can seduce anyone they want to let them in their bed. They have sex appeal and will turn heads wherever they go. They also have the knowledge of ages.

What better than the forbidden fruit to define a vampire?

It's the forbidden fruit from genesis.

EDIT: Yes, the book Genesis from the Bible.

It can't be how Edward sees Bella because Eve took the first bite (unless Edward is Eve). This is the forbidden fruit being offered to Bella.

  • it represents the forbidden fruit(or forbidden love) between Edward and Bella.

I always thought it could mean the way Bella wants to be a vampire...and how do you become a vampire?

    you have to bite!

It is supposed to symbolise the "forbidden fruit"

    Kind of like Eddie.

It's a bit confuzzling because this is the only space Ms. Meyer gives to this symbol.

It represents the fruit of good and evil, and also in the film the slogan (i think that's what it's called) is: the forbidden fruit always tastes the sweetest
