I have seen 3 different versions of the movie, The Miracle Worker. The first starred Patty Duke as Helen. The second had Patty Duke in the role of Teacher and Melissa Gilbert was Helen. There has been a third since then. The first was filmed in black and white. Patty Duke actually met Helen during the filming of the first movie.

Go online to the Library of Congress or even your local library. I recall seeing the first film version back in the late 50s-early 60s.
