whipping cream or heavy cream?
What is the difference between the two? Can I use whipping cream in a recipe if it calls for heavy cream?
I have extra leftover from Thanksgiving ( not whipped ) and thought of making truffels but all the recipes call for heavy cream.

yes as you can whip it to whatever you want!!

the only difference is the fat content, the fat in the cream prevents it from "breaking" easily. so if the recipe is for a sauce or thickening, i would use heavy cream or double cream that will stand up to the heat better. if your baking then either could be used.
