A meal for 2, no alcohol, how much on a giftcard?

As a last gift for my dad and stepmom, I want to give them a gift card to a chain restaurant. I've already gotten them a few other "nice" gifts, so this doesn't have to be extravagant. Would $30 be enough for a meal out without alcohol? (Neither drinks.)

$30 is great. Even if they spend more than that, thats still $30 they dont have to spend!

I think $30 would be a nice gift certificate. When me and my husband go out to eat it's around $30 or $40 dollars as long as it's not a fancy restaurant. We never get appetizers or drinks when we go out to eat though. I would be happy with a $30 gift certificate though even if it doesn't cover the entire meal at least it is something.

I would say about $50 would be better. Unless it's just a hamburger joint or something, but I'm sure they'll be grateful no matter what!

If you've been to the place, try to remember what it cost for your meal, and if you haven't been there, you can call the restaurant and ask for a ballpark figure for an average meal.

    Good luck!

It depends on the restaruant and if they go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. See if they have a web site and check out the prices. If I had $30 I am sure I could find something to eat or if I wanted to order something expensive then I would just have to come up with the difference.

Well, factor in ALL the courses:

    Appetizer: $8.00/person

Entrees for two: 11.00 to 20.00/person

    Dessert: $4.00/person

Of course, if your parents share appetizers or desserts just one. Also, it depends on what restaurant and what type of entrees they would eat.

yeah...that should be perfect...at places like chilis and on the border entrees are around $10 on average and the drinks will probably run you about 2 bucks...so i think that should cover ir.

$30 would be good depending on where purchased, like Olive Garden.
