how did the titans clinch afc south?

Question

how did the titans clinch the division if they lose out and colts win out...titans would be 12-4 overall, 4-2 div., and 9-3 conf. and the colts would be 12-4 overall, 4-2 div., and 10-3 conf. and if colts win out the would split head to head 1-1 so i do not unerstand

...the colts and titans play twice and if colts win out then that means colts beat them once too

If the Titans and Colts both end up at 12-4, the tie-breaker that will apply is the best record against common opponents. The Titans would be 11-3 and the Colts would be 10-4. (The non-common games were Jets(l) and Chiefs(w) for the Titans, and Patriots(w) and Chargers(w) for the Colts.)

The 3rd tiebreaker when deciding division winners is Won/Loss % against common opponents.  So I guess there's no way the Colts can make up for losing to teams like the Bears that the Titans beat.  That tiebreaker comes before Conference record.  The Colts have already lost once to Jacksonville who the Titans swept.  They can't catch up in that tiebreaker category.

It can be confusing, but they wouldn't have given the Titans the Division today without crunching all the numbers to make sure.

titans won't make it to twelve-0 for some reason and that i in my opinion quite do no longer kno y yet i think of the Bears are a tension to be reckoned with. i even picked them as my mid season great bowl %.. as quickly as returned i do no longer kno y colts will lose next 3 video games
