Do I need to wear goggles when snowboarding?

If it's snowing or windy, then yes you will want goggles. But if it's calm and sunny out, a pair of sunglasses will do just fine.

Name-brand goggles (Dragon, Oakley, Spy) are REALLY expensive, as is everything else in the sport of snowboarding, I would go with something more generic, like Scott. Also, it depends if the runs are lighted very well at night, which in my opinion is the best time to snowboard, then you will have to decide whether or not to get tinted goggles or not...

When I started snowboarding I never used goggles. But now I couldn't imagine not using them, when I take them off for a second while snowboarding I feel like it is unbearable. I think it depends on your skill level. If you are just starting out or don't usually go too fast you can probably go without them if you really want, and it won't be too bad.

By all means yes. Goggles not only keep a good part of your face warm, but they also shade your eyes from the bright snow and prevents those eyeball sun burns.

i always have goggles with me...if i dont need them, they are wrapped around my head so if i do need them they are readily available....yes, you need them

YES it is so cold ur eye will water and it hurts. and when your going fast an wind hits ur eye they alway water .. it a smart idea to get them
